BETTY MAE DUCK OBITUARY
Betty Mae (Flynn) Duck, 87, of Bowdertown (Cherry Tree), PA and formerly of Arcadia, PA died Sunday, April 19, 2020 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center in Indiana, PA.
The daughter of Floyd and Lillian (Fronk) Flynn, she was born on May 25, 1932 in Montgomery Twp., Indiana County, PA.
Betty Mae was a member of the Arcadia Presbyterian Church. She enjoyed playing the piano and in the past she had served as the church pianist.
She married Louis “Budd” Duck on July 11,1949.
In previous years, Betty Mae enjoyed going to the Mahoning Hills Senior Center and spending time with her friends at the center, especially her good friend, Pam Hankinson.
An avid reader, another one of her favorite pastimes was making beautiful doilies on her loom.
When playing bingo at Crystal Waters Personal Care Home, Betty Mae would save all her “candy winnings” to give her great grandchildren as treats.
She is survived by her three sons: Louis B. “Buddy” Duck, Jr. and wife Norma of Cherry Tree, PA; Gary Lee Duck and wife Vera of Punxsutawney, PA and Barry “Marty” Martin Duck and wife Nancy of Cherry Tree, PA; her five grandchildren: Chris, Bethany, Sabrina, Lesa and Jennifer; her six great grandchildren: Lexi; Logan; Ian; Wyatt; Liam and Stella Mae and her special friend, Darla Pry.
Betty Mae was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on October 5, 1985; her son Delbert “Mick” Duck on November 20, 2019 and her two brothers: David “Cookie” and Thomas Flynn.
In accordance with the coronavirus guidelines, private services officiated by Pastor John Traxler will be held for Betty Mae’s immediate family at the Rairigh Funeral Home, Ltd. in Hillsdale, PA. Interment at the Thompson Cemetery in Hillsdale, PA. A memorial service will be held at a future date.
Her family extends their grateful appreciation to the staffs of IRMC; AristaCare at Hillsdale Park and Crystal Waters for all the special care and kindnesses shown to Betty Mae.
