Obituary

CHICOPEE – Emily M. (Laforce) Romanovicz, 83, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Saturday, April 18, 2020. She entered into Eternal Life tragically from the COVID-19 Virus at Heritage Hall West in Agawam surrounded by all of the memories that she loved and cherished. She was born in Holyoke on September 25, 1936, a beloved daughter of the late Edmond and Marie R. (Hebert) Laforce. She was raised in Holyoke and moved to Chicopee in 1957 before moving to Fairview in 2010. She was employed as an inspector and packer at Walter Drake’s in Holyoke. During her leisure time, she enjoyed trying her luck at many local bingo games, playing card games including Uno and LCR, cheering for her New England sports teams and enjoying peanut butter and fluff sandwiches. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Walter J. Romanovicz who was Called Home on July 25, 2011. They were married on February 1, 1957 at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Holyoke and were blessed with over 54 years of happiness together. She leaves her four loving children, Deborah Quesinberry and her husband, Gary, of Palm Harbor, FL, Brenda Carlson and her husband, Erik, of Chicopee, Mary Demers of West Hartford, CT and her former husband, Thomas Demers of East Longmeadow and Walter Romanovicz and his wife, Kathy, of Ludlow; her 12 cherished grandchildren, Bobby, Crystal, Matthew, Kym, Michael, Christopher, Timothy, Thomas, Andrew, Benjamin, Sara and Cody; her 18 cherished great-grandchildren; her two dear brothers-in-law, Michael Romanowicz and Paul Romanovicz and his wife, Janet, all of Chicopee; her dear sister-in-law, Pauline Harding of Chicopee; and her many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, extended family members and friends. Her funeral services and burial will be private at the Massachusetts Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam, MA 01001. Her funeral arrangements are entrusted to the St. Pierre – Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. In lieu of flowers, her family requests that memorial donations be made in her memory to the Soldiers’ Home in Holyoke, 110 Cherry Street, Holyoke, MA 01040.
