Therese M. (Quinn) McSweeney, a 64 year resident of Melrose and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Friday, April 17, 2020 at Bear Hill Nursing Center in Stoneham. She was 91 years of age.
Therese was born in Somerville on January 18, 1929, a daughter of the late Mark J. Quinn and Julia (Herlihy) Quinn. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated at St. Francis De Sales Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1946. Therese worked as a Secretary for the City of Melrose for over 20 years until her retirement. She enjoyed shopping and traveling to Hampton Beach. Therese was always on the go with family and friends. She was a member of the Old Charlestown Schoolgirls Association and the Ladies Sodality of St. Mary's Church in Melrose.
Therese is the beloved wife of the late William F. McSweeney. She is the devoted mother of Maureen Belanger and her husband Mark, Mark McSweeney and his wife Pamela, William F. McSweeney Jr. and his wife Alicia and the late Patricia O'Brien. She is the loving Nana to Derek and his wife Maureen, Michelle and her husband Paul, Thomas and his wife Andrea, Danielle, Stephanie and her husband Matt, Ryan, Colleen and her husband Stefano, Kara and her husband Arun, Lindsay and her fiance Jimmy, and Brian and his fiance Bianca. She is the loving Great Gram to Michael, Andrew, Thomas, John, Julian, Colin, and Emily.
