Cosmo J. Giacchetto, age 92 of Medford, Ma. and formerly of Cambridge, Ma. on April 11, 2020. He was the son of the late Calogero and Maria (Insalaco) Giacchetto. Husband of Alma (Rapallo) for 60 years. He had two sons Dana and Russell and two grandsons Giacomo and Dario of Newport, RI.
One of seven children, he was the youngest son and is survived by his brother Warren of Woburn, Ma. and his sister Clara of Cambridge, Ma.. He had many nieces and nephews. Cosmo was a baker at his family’s company, Warren Baking Co. of Cambridge. They provided bread and rolls for A&P Supermarkets and Stop and Shop Co. Cosmo graduated Boston University where he obtained his Bachelor and Law Degrees.
He then went into real estate where he founded GIA Realty with his wife Alma. They opened the first real estate company in Charlestown and another in Medford, Ma. which is still in operation. He went on many trips with his family. He flew the Concorde from France to New York. He was the author of the book, When the Act Accuses Him.
He was an intelligent and kind man with a heart of gold. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
