Obituary

Worcester – Richard J. Janiszewski, 77, of Worcester died on Sunday February 12 in Sandalwood Nursing Home, Oxford after an illness.

His wife Helen (Dionis) Janiszewski died in 1993. Mr. Janiszewski is survived by two sisters Teresa Olds of Webster and Gertrude Kaczynski of Oxford and several nephews and nieces. He is predeceased by a sister Dorothy Seilius and a brother Edmund Janiszewski. Mr. Janiszewski was born in Worcester son of John and Anna (Golas) Janiszewski and served in the United States Navy during World War II.

He worked as a press operator for Felters Company in Millbury and Worcester Pressed Aluminum before his retirement. Mr. Janiszewski was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and the Polish American Veterans. He also enjoyed polka dancing and collecting polka records.

The funeral will be held on Thursday February 16 from the Alfred Roy & Sons Funeral Home 12 Hammond St. with a mass at 10:30 AM in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours are from 9 to 10 AM in the funeral home before the funeral. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Czestochowa Church 34 Ward St. Worcester, MA 01610.
