Rev. Loyd “Clinton” Moore, 68, of Tifton passed away Friday, April 17, 2020, at Tift Regional Medical Center. A private graveside funeral service will be held for Rev. Moore on Tuesday, April 21, 2020, at Leila United Methodist Church Cemetery in Omega (Colquitt County), where he will be laid to rest. Darrell Moore and Craig Moore will give eulogies.
Born July 2, 1951 in Tifton, Rev. Moore was the son of the late Loyd Houston Moore and Carolyn Ann Land Moore. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, John Alex Moore, Jerry Moore and Bobby Turner; and his Granny Esco Moore. He was serving as pastor of Reedy Creek Baptist Church in Colquitt County and enjoyed part-time farming. He served as a deacon at Calvary Baptist Church in Tifton and at Lenox Baptist Church. He was active in the Truck Stop Ministry and he was a member of the Gideons. He loved serving his Lord and sharing that love with others.
Rev. Moore is survived by his wife, Susan Lassiter Moore of Tifton; three daughters and two sons-in-law, Lisa Moore and Darlene and Gary Westberry, all of Tifton and Ginger and Steve “Lucky” Farmer of Ty Ty; seven brothers and six sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Anita Moore of Tifton, Ricky and Tonita Moore of Lenox, Michael and Wendy Moore of Tifton, Craig and Vicki Moore of Barwick and Howard and Shelby Moore, Darrell and Sherri Moore and Harvey and Michelle Moore, all of Tifton; one sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Mike Dunn of Wytheville, Virginia; eight grandchildren, Johnathan and Ritz Hodnett, Zackary Hodnett, Steven Farmer, Hunter Farmer, Clinton Farmer, Anna Farmer, Katie Westberry and Garrett Westberry; and numerous nieces and nephews.
