Rosemary Althea (Carr) Sibley

(May 15, 1959 – April 16, 2020))

STANDISH- Rosemary Althea (Carr) Sibley, 60, Standish ME, passed away unexpectedly at home on April 16, 2020. She was born May 15, 1959 in Lincoln, ME to Cyril Mitchell Carr and Mary Ann (Perkins) Carr. She attended Burlington/Howland ME schools and graduated from Penobscot Valley High School in 1978.

Rosemary married the love of her life, Francis “Abe” John Sibley Jr on June 7, 1980. They resided in southern Maine for the next forty years in Old Orchard Beach, in South Portland, in Westbrook and finally in Standish. Rosemary worked for McDonalds, Fairchild/National semi-conductor and the School Administration District (SAD) 6. Her favorite and most rewarding time was as a day-care operator, she loved the babies and kids.

Rosemary and Abe camped, boated and fished throughout Maine and traveled the state extensively. Rosemary liked to spend her time crafting, reading, cooking, scrapbooking and babying her pets.

Rosemary was preceded in death by her parents, a beloved daughter Amelia Violet Sibley, niece Jessica Carr, stepmother Persis (Keith) Carr, mother-in-law Dorothy (Sibley) Sibley, brother-in-law Robert Fernald and sister-in-law Brenda (Sibley) Glidden.

Survivors include her husband: Francis Sibley, Jr.; siblings Claude Carr and Debra, Mitchell Carr and his partner Suzanne, Gwendolyn Hanson and Richard, Jamie Fernald and her partner Joe, and Carl Carr and Pattie, father-in-law Francis Sibley, Sr and sister-in-law Sandra Sibley. As well as, her beloved nieces, nephews and their families.

A graveside service will be held at Mount Repose Cemetery, Burlington ME, at the convenience of the family.
