It is with great sadness that the family of Mr. Harry Dietrich Stauffer announces his passing, after a valiant fight against cancer, on Saturday, April 11th at the age of 82. Harry was born on the 4th of July, 1937 in Baltimore, Maryland to the late Harry Charles Stauffer and Catherine Elizabeth Stauffer (nee Hesterberg). He was predeceased by his elder sister, Mrs. Elizabeth ‘Betty” Losch (Al).
Harry passed away peacefully at his home in Stuart, Florida and will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 50 years, Darlene, his son Greg (Breda) of Navarre, FL, and daughters Denise (Chris) of Springfield, VA, Janice (Bill) of Nokomis, FL, Deborah of Bluefield, WV, and Janine (Daniel) of York, PA, as well as eighteen grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is also survived by a younger brother, Lawrence (Carol) of Catonsville, MD and sister Nancy (Charlie) of Towson, MD.
Harry was a proud Air Force veteran and retired defense contractor/field engineer for Westinghouse/Northrup Grumman. He was a lifelong Orioles fan and animal lover. He was a 40 year member of Salem Lutheran Church in Jacobus, Pennsylvania, and a ardent supporter of Boy Scouts of America, Girl Scouts of America, the Salvation Army, and the SPCA. He was a devoted and loving husband and father and will be missed by all who knew him.
Due to COVID-19 gathering restriction, services will be immediate family only. Graveside funeral services will be performed by Pastor Andrew Okai of Holy Nativity Lutheran Church in Arbutus.
