Michael David Koza, 53, a lifetime Merrimack Valley resident, passed away unexpectedly, April 10, 2020. Michael was born in Lowell, MA, on February 10, 1967, the middle son of 3 children born to his parents, Mary Jo and Hank Koza. Mike attended school in Belvidere and later furthered his education at Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, MA. After graduating from Central, Mike became a MA Certified EMT and dedicated 30+ years of his life to service the people of the Merrimack Valley. Michael began his career as an EMT for Care Ambulance of Lowell in the late 1980s.Michael also worked for Frontline Ambulance and Trinity EMS, where he spent most of his work experience as an EMT Supervisor. He finished his career as a dispatcher with PrideStar EMS in 2015. During his time on earth, Michael made many friends due to his quick wit and honest caring nature. Growing up, Michael loved anything that had to do with sports. He was an avid fisherman, spending many hours in a boat or standing on the shore trying to catch “the big one.” On his days off, you would also find him on the nearest golf course hoping to lower his handicap. He loved those times together, competing with his friends. Like most youngsters, he also loved to go to the beach, especially Rye Beach, NH, where his family would rent a cottage and stay for the summer. Mike, Stephen, and Sean loved being together during these times, soaking up the NH sun and riding into shore the vast waves the Atlantic provided. Thankful to have shared Michael’s life with him is his father, Hank, his brothers Sean, Stephen and spouse, Julie , his aunt, Geraldine(Loiselle) Mangan, James Mangan, Ann Mangan, Patrick Daly, Maryjo(Ostrow) Daly and Thomas Daly, five nephews, Morgan, Matthew, Christopher, Stephen Jr., Adam and his dear friend Pops as well as countless numbers of friends whose lives he touched. "Crusher", as he was called later in life, will be missed by all. Michael is preceded in death by his loving mother, Mary Jo {Mangan} Koza, his aunt, Anne {Mangan} Dalyand his uncle Stephen Mangan. We will all celebrate Michael's life in a Memorial Service whenever our lives get back to normal.
