Obituary

HOLYOKE ~ Yvette T. (Cote) Bousquet, 95, a resident of Mount Saint Vincent Care Center in Holyoke and a former longtime resident of the Gentile Apartments in the South End section of Springfield, was Called Safely Home on Wednesday, April 15, 2020. She passed into Eternal Life tragically from the COVID-19 Virus at Mount Saint Vincent Care Center surrounded by her wonderful caregivers and all of her many crafts that she lovingly made there and surrounded herself with. She was born in Springfield on July 16, 1924, the beloved daughter of the late Elphege and Laura (Martin) Cote. She was raised in Springfield, graduated from Springfield schools and had lived in Springfield most of her life. She was employed as a doll clothing seamstress in Springfield. She was a communicant of the former Saint Joseph Church and currently was a communicant of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, both in Springfield. During her leisure time, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting and was known as the local “Bingo Expert”, visiting and winning at many local bingo games. Above all, she loved spending time with her family and her many friends. She was predeceased by her beloved husband and best friend, Roger A. Bousquet who was Called Home on September 21, 1992. They were married at the former Saint Joseph Church in Springfield and were blessed with over 43 years of happiness together. She leaves her loving son and daughter-in-law, Gary A. Bousquet and his wife, Patricia “Pat” Bousquet, of Chicopee; her two cherished grandchildren, Michael Bousquet and his wife, Kerri, of East Longmeadow and Lauren Bousquet and her fiancé, Matt Lubas, of Enfield, CT; her four cherished great grandchildren, Abigail, Dylan, Ashleigh and Zachary; and her many dear extended family members and friends. In addition to her beloved parents and husband, she was predeceased by her loving infant daughter, Christine Bousquet who was Called Home on September 15, 1950; and her dear brother-in-law, Lou Bousquet. A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Springfield at a date and time to be announced in the future. Her Committal Service will be private at Saint Michael Cemetery in Springfield. Her funeral arrangements are entrusted to the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Aldenville Chapels, (413-532-9806), 13 Dale Street, Chicopee, MA 01020. In lieu of flowers, her family asks that memorial donations be made in Yvette’s memory to the Mount Saint Vincent Care Center Activity Fund, 35 Holy Family Road, Holyoke, MA 01040 in appreciation of Yvette’s love of the many activities she enjoyed participating in during her time there.
