Rocco J. "Rocky" DiNicola, a 40 year resident of Charlestown and formerly of East Boston, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at the Life Care Center Nursing Home in Stoneham. He was 90 years of age.
Rocky was born in Boston on June 21, 1929, a son of the late Rocco DiNicola and Elena (Mamiani) DiNicola. He grew up in East Boston where he was educated throughout the Boston Public School system. Rocky enlisted into the United States Navy on July 15, 1946 and served his country faithfully and with pride. He was honorably discharged on March 24, 1950 with the rank of Ensign Third Class. Rocky worked as a contractor in the Boston area for over 50 years. He enjoyed traveling to and spending time at Old Orchid Beach, Maine, watching the New England Patriots and every Saturday morning he could be found hanging out at Frank's Garage in Chelsea. Rocky cherished all the special moments in his life that he was able to share with his beloved wife Eileen and the Sullivan children and grandchildren throughout these past many years.
Rocky is the beloved husband of the late Eileen F. (Sullivan) DiNicola. He is the devoted step-father of Karen Considine and her husband Pat, Michael Sullivan and his wife Lisa, Danny Sullivan and his wife Kerry and the late Jackie Sullivan. His the father of Doreen, Louis, Donald and the late Rocco Jr., Joseph and Kenneth. He is the loving Pa to Courtney, Patrick, Ryan, Kathleen, Shea, Nolan, Brooke, Jack, Richard, Kristen and his special great-granddaughter Kennedy. He is the brother of Carol, Johanne and Mary. He is the dear friend of Doris.
