Foy Lee Harrell, 91, of Tifton passed away Wednesday, April 15, 2020 at Tift Regional Medical Center. A private graveside funeral service will be held for Mr. Harrell at Mount Zion Baptist Church Cemetery in Chula, where he will be laid to rest. The Rev. Larry Layfield will officiate.
Born August 18, 1928 in Turner County, Mr. Harrell was the son of the late John Wally Harrell and Martha Smith Harrell. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nell Pearman Harrell; one son, Donnie Lee Harrell; five brothers, William Harrell, John Dewey Harrell, James Harrell, Albert Harrell and John A. Harrell; and one sister, Nellie Harrell Taylor. Before retiring, he worked for Trailways and was very active in the Trailways Retirement Club. He was also owner and operator of a trucking business for 20 years. He was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church in Chula, where he served as a deacon and he was also a deacon at Westview Baptist Church in Albany.
Mr. Harrell is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Patricia and Grant Loosier of Gray and Vickie and Alex Pereira of Melbourne, Florida; two sisters, Willie Harrell Lumsden of Sycamore and Wilma Harrell Mashburn of Newberry, Florida; five grandchildren, Grant Lafayette Loosier, Joshua Patrick Loosier, Victoria Loosier Vinson, Alexis Pereira Best and Austin Pereira; and four great-grandchildren, Tristan Loosier, Bayleigh Loosier, Maxwell Loosier and Samuel Loosier.
