Donald A. MacCord, 79 of Derry, NH died Tuesday April 14, 2020 at the Hackett Hill Nursing Home, Manchester, NH. Donald was born in Lawrence, MA on June 7, 1940, a son of the late Donald and Emily (McBride) MacCord. He had resided in Derry for the past 27 years, formerly living in Northwood, NH.
He was educated in Lawrence schools. He worked for 30 years at Honeywell building and testing computers. He was head of the Safety Committee and taught First Aid and CPR classes while employed there. While in Northwood he served as an EMT on the Volunteer Ambulance service. He spent most of his life as an avid Ham Radio Enthusiast holding the call sign KB1XI . He was later employed at Getronics as a customer service Rep then finished out his career as a Security Guard at Securitas.
He is survived by his wife, Anne (Colby) MacCord of Derry, one stepson, Bryan Delaney of Chester, NH, one stepdaughter, Colleen Delaney of Derry, NH, one grandchild, Lilly Delaney of Chester, NH, one brother and sister-in-law, James and Sharon MacCord of Hampsted, NH, a niece Colleen Young, three nephews, James, Scott and Greg MacCord, three sisters, Virginia Rodier, Patti MacCord, and Valerie Landis, and many cousins locally and in PA. He was predeceased by his brother, William MacCord of Salem, NH.
Following cremation, memorial services will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family. Donations to the Cancer Society in Don’s name would be welcomed. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium of Derry and Londonderry is assisting the family with arrangements.
