Stacey Alicia Merkman, 44, of Fall River passed away suddenly on April 11, 2020.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of Ronald C. Merkman, Sr. of East Freetown and the late Constance A. (Clark) Merkman, she was raised in East Freetown and lived in New Bedford before moving to Fall River 3 years ago.
She was employed as a correctional officer with the Bristol County Sheriff's Office for over 20 years.
Stacey was a member of Calvary Pentecostal Church in East Freetown.
She enjoyed cooking, shopping, photography, spending time with family and friends and the company of her dog Peanut.
Survivors include her father; a son, Amajai J. Celester of Fall River; a brother, Ronald C. Merkman, Jr. of East Freetown; her twin sister, Sonya Alicia Merkman of East Freetown; her former partner, Darryl Celester of Fall River; a niece, Bree; 2 nephews, Nicholas and Elijah; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was the friend of the late Dennis M. Wayman, who was the fiance of Sonya Merkman.
Due to the current restrictions on public gatherings, her Funeral Service and burial will be private for immediate family only. A public memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford, MA.
