James F. "Jim" McDonald, a 54 year resident of Lynn and Swampscott and formerly of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Friday, April 10, 2020 at Care One Essex Park Nursing Home in Beverly. He was 85 years of age.
Jim was born in Boston on April 6, 1935, a son of the late Frank McDonald and Mary (Peterson) McDonald. He grew up in Charlestown where he was educated in the Boston Public School system. He graduated from Charlestown High School in 1954. Jim worked as a Private Investigator owning his own company for over 30 years. In his earlier years, Jim was a golden gloves boxer and won the golden gloves championship in the welterweight division. He enjoyed reading and watching movies in his spare time.
Jim is the beloved husband of 54 years to Donna F. (Beliveau) McDonald. He is the devoted father of James D. McDonald, Eileen M. McDonald, Kathleen Skinner, Matthew McDonald, Maureen "Minnie" McDonald-Woods, and the late infant Karen Ann Beliveau. He is the loving Grampy to his 10 Grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He is the beloved brother of the late Margery Fuller, Richard McDonald, Joseph "Joker" McDonald, Frank McDonald, David McDonald, Kenneth McDonald and Marsha Zimmerman. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.
