Virginia Julia “Ma” (Zani) Fegan, 101, of Medway, died April 10 in the Medway Country Manor. She was the wife of the late William Robert Fegan.
Born in Wellesley, September 8, 1918, the daughter of the late Gasparo and Jennie (Maccini) Zani, Virginia grew up in the Zani family farmhouse in Wellesley. She lived in Natick for many years before moving to Medway.
She was a graduate of Wellesley High School and Burdett Business School.
Virginia had been a cashier at Frank’s Fruit Stand and office support for Holmes Transportation.
She had enjoyed gardening, and traveling with her husband Bob to Acapulco, Italy, Ireland and all over the United States.
Virginia loved to make things from scratch! She was known for her Bitz Torte, spinach raviolis and boudits.

She is survived by her children, Jane Malo and her husband Carl of Bellingham, Robert Fegan and his wife Suzette of Plainfield, New Hampshire and Gene Fegan of Homossasa, Florida. She was the mother of the late Richard Fegan, Edward Fegan and Kenneth Fegan.
She is also survived by her daughter- in-law Dee Fegan of Covington, Louisiana.
Virginia was the sister of the late Albina Grome, Judith Ryan, Mary Bertolami, Henry Zane, Edith Nannicelli, James Zani and Rita Long.
She is also survived by her grandchildren: Laurie, Leesa, Heather, Lindsey, Chuckie, Julie, Christine, Ashley, Greg, Jeff and Chris, 19 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. She also loved her late faithful companion, Harley, the German Shepherd.
The family would like to thank the dedicated staff of Medway Country Manor who took part in Virginia’s care over the past eleven years. All of you were very special to her and to her family.
A memorial service will be held at later date. No flowers please due to the COVID-19 Pandemic.
