DeMARIA, Anthony of Walpole, MA passed away peacefully on April 10, 2020 at the age of 67. Tony was born in Passaic, New Jersey on September 22, 1952 to the late Louis and Rose DeMaria.
Tony was a loving father to his children, daughter, Caitlin Abell and her husband Michael of Walpole, MA, his daughter, Jillian DeMaria of Simsbury, CT, and son Christian DeMaria of Simsbury, CT. A great pride to Tony were his two grandchildren, Brandon and Kayleigh Abell. Tony is also survived by his siblings, Louis DeMaria, Donna Semeniuk, Michele Bruno, and David DeMaria. As well as Kathleen DeMaria, loving mother of his children. Further surviving Tony are his many nieces, nephews and friends.
Tony graduated from St.Peter’s College, Jersey City, NJ and earned his Juris Doctorate from Seton Hall Law School, Newark, NJ. He started his career as a Fireman’s Fund Insurance Manager and continued to become a highly regarded businessman by co-founding a successful commercial insurance agency. He loved being on the ocean, at the helm his boat, alongside his children, fishing, lobstering and boating. Some of his fondest memories were created in Groton Long Point, CT, and spending quality time with his family at Nana Rose’s beach house on the Jersey Shore. His passion for food and cooking will never be forgotten. He was an incredibly strong willed and determined man whose dedication and persistence fulfilled his many passions, all of which earned him the fond family title of “master deal maker”. Throughout his more than 30 year courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease he persevered with dignity and bravery. Tony touched many lives and will be fondly remembered and greatly missed.
As a result of the ongoing health crisis in the world and our community and with genuine concern for the well-being of all involved, a Celebration of Tony’s life will be postponed until the summer, his favorite time of year.
