Carol A. (Cottier) Mahoney, a lifelong resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Wednesday, April 8, 2020 at the Katzman Family Center For Living in Chelsea. She was 78 years of age.
Carol was born in Boston on December 23, 1941, a daughter of the late Joseph V. "Hobba" Cottier and Frances M. (Gallagher) Cottier. She grew up in Charlestown where she was educated throughout the Boston Public School system. Carol worked as a Unit Secretary at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston for over 10 years. She was a member of The Old Charlestown Schoolgirls Association. She enjoyed bowling, reading, traveling to Manomet and whenever she was able to be the life of a party she enjoyed her singing and dancing. Most important in Carol's life was her family and she cherished all the special moments with each one of her children and especially how proud she was of all of her grandchildren and their accomplishments in life.
Carol is the beloved wife of the late Walter V. "Mickey" Mahoney. She is the devoted mother of Thomas Murray, Kevin Murray and Maryann Murray, Gary Murray and his wife Jean, Jack Murray, Carolyn Settipani and her husband Donny and Jacquelyn Moran and her husband Bill. She is the step-mother of Joseph Mahoney, William Mahoney and the late Paul Mahoney. She is the loving Nana to her 20 Grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. She is the beloved sister of Edward Cottier, Joan Kyle, Gerry Munden and the late Joseph Cottier and John Cottier. She is the dear friend of Billy Flynn.

A MEMORIAL MASS AND CELEBRATION OF CAROL"S LIFE WILL BE ANNOUNCED AT A LATER DATE.
