Stephen (Steve) Read Dumas Passed away on March 29, 2020 at the age of 72 years old at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis Massachusetts.
Born in Salem Massachusetts on April 30, 1947, Steve lived in Bedford, Massachusetts;Center Sandwich,New Hampshire;Jupiter, Florida and Provincetown, Massachusetts.
Steve earned his BA degree from Albion College a private liberal arts school in Michigan he studied Art & Mathematics while working in the school cafeteria and serving as a lifeguard at the swimming pool. He was a member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity where he was known as a great storyteller and a kind and wonderful friend to all. He also earned his Masters degree in Fine Arts and Design from Tufts University.
Steve was a Teacher, Butler, and most of all an Artist. He traveled all over the world and used all his experiences to create his one of a kind artwork. He settled into the small town of Provincetown, Massachusetts with its rich history for Artists. It was here in this artist community where Steve felt most at home. His stories, larger than life laugh will be missed by all.
A celebration in his honor will be held on Cape Cod this Summer 2020.
