CHICOPEE – Ronald A. “Ronnie” Racine, 68, of the Fairview section of Chicopee, was Called Safely Home on Sunday, April 5, 2020. He passed into Eternal Life at home surrounded by his beloved wife, Mary Jane and his niece, Godchild and hospice caretaker, Sharon McPhee. He was born in Holyoke on February 25, 1952, a beloved son of the late Raymond J. and Rhea R. (Quesnel) Racine. He was raised in South Hadley, graduated from Springfield Trade High School and had lived in Granby before moving to Fairview in 1990. He was employed as a truck driver and had worked at Waste Management in South Hadley and later worked at O’Connell Oil in Easthampton and North Star Recycling in Springfield. During his leisure time, he enjoyed boating, camping, gardening and tending to his beautiful Koi pond. Above all, he loved spending time with his family and his many friends. He leaves his beloved wife and best friend, Mary Jane (McNeil) Racine. They were married on January 2, 2004 in Brattleboro, VT and were blessed with over 35 years of happiness together. He also leaves his two dear brothers, Richard “Ricky” Racine and his wife, Carrie, of Belchertown and Roland Racine and his wife, Sharlene, of South Hadley; his dear brother-in-law, Glenn McNeil and his wife, Dianna, of South Windsor, CT; and his Godmother, Marguerite Quesnel of South Hadley; his cherished godchild and niece, Sharon M. McPhee and her husband, Jason, of Holyoke; and his many dear nephews, nieces, cousins, friends and extended members of the Racine and Quesnel families. In addition to his beloved parents, he was predeceased by his loving canine companions, his Weimaraners Madison and Chelsea. His funeral services and burial will be private. His funeral arrangements are entrusted to the St. Pierre-Phaneuf Fairview Chapels, (413-533-3307), 506 Britton Street, Chicopee, MA 01020.
