He was appointed a Chicopee Alderman in 1979 and had served the Fairview Ward 9 for two terms. He was a communicant of Sainte Rose de Lima Church in Chicopee. He was a member of the Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association, the Porsche Club of America, the Chicopee Municipal Police Association and the Massachusetts Police Association. During his leisure time, he loved flying airplanes out of Northampton Airport, driving his collection of antique automobiles and always enjoyed telling stories and “Making Long Stories Short”. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, his friends and his many feline companions. He leaves his beloved wife and soul mate, Gail A. (Gosselin) Murawski.
