Andrew Floyd Pennington, III, loving husband, father and long-time Tifton resident, passed away on February 10, 2006. Services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 11, 2006 in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals with visitation immediately following the service. He will be laid to rest in Jefferson County at Mount Moriah Methodist Church Cemetery on Monday, February 13, 2006 at 2:00 p.m.
Born in Augusta, GA on February 24, 1942, Mr. Pennington was the son of the late Andrew F. Pennington, Jr. and Emily Story Pennington of Matthews, GA. He graduated from the University of Georgia in 1961 with a degree in Business. He served with the Navy Seabees in Vietnam from 1966-1968. He was a lifetime employee in the agricultural equipment business, having worked for International Harvester Company for 25 years and, most recently, filled the needs of the agricultural community while working from Patrick Tractor Company in Tifton.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Virginia Brooks Pennington; a daughter, Melissa Pennington Cummins of Tifton; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Mark and Ashley Pennington of Murfreesboro, TN and John Pennington of Atlanta; a brother, Sam Story Pennington of Matthews, GA; a sister, Deborah Helton of Dublin; two grandchildren, Conner Cummins and Garret Andrew Pennington; and many other extended family members throughout Georgia and Tennessee.
