Dr. Carol Ann Dowler, 62, of Valdosta passed away Monday, March 30, 2020, at her residence surrounded by her family. A private graveside funeral service will be held for Dr. Dowler on Thursday, April 2, 2020, at Tift Memorial Gardens, where she will be laid to rest. The Rev. Dr. Jarred D. Hammet will officiate with a eulogy to be given by Allen Boyd.
Dr. Dowler’s co-workers, Sandy Turner, Reshon Benjamin, Kendrick Moody, Antonio Haynes, Dan Chappuis, Edward Wilcox and Benjy Scarbor, and her nephews, Paul Bott and Joshua Boyd will serve as pallbearers.
Born August 4, 1957 in Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Dowler was the daughter of Clyde Dowler and Helen Sowma Dowler of Tifton. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Gayle Dowler. She was a devout Christian and taught chemistry at Valdosta High School. She enjoyed singing and directing the church choir.
In addition to her parents, Dr. Dowler is survived by two sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Rod Heyerdahl and Debra and Allen Boyd, all of Tifton; her niece and nephew and their spouses, Suzanne and Paul Bott and Joshua and Lacee Boyd; and her great-nephews, James Bott, Matthew Bott and Cullen Boyd.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to her friends in Valdosta for their love and concern for Dr. Dowler.
