Dorothy H. Kraynick
Longtime Tewksbury Resident
TEWKSBURY: Dorothy H. (Russell) Kraynick, age 89, a resident of Tewksbury for 60 years, passed away at the Lowell General Hospital on Saturday, March 28, 2020.
She was the beloved wife of the late Russell W. Kraynick.
Born in Medford on February 11, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Leonard D. Russell and the late Marion (Ash) Russell.
Dorothy was raised in Medford, and graduated from Medford High School in 1950.
Prior to retiring, she worked for many at the Tewksbury Market (formerly Sullivan’s Store) at the corner of Shawsheen Street and Foster Road.
Dorothy was a former Sunday school teacher at the Tewksbury United Methodist Church.
She enjoyed playing bingo at Tewksbury Hospital, St. William’s Church as well as at Blaire House when she was under their care. In addition, Dorothy loved taking a chance on the lottery scratch tickets.
Dorothy is the mother of Stephen L. Kraynick and his wife Nancy of Hamilton, NY, Elizabeth A. “Libby” Kraynick of Tewksbury and Janice M. Barlow and her husband George of Salem, NH. Grandmother of Jennifer and Michael Barlow, Derek and Eric Munnis, the late L CPL Andrew Kraynick, USMC, and Stephen Kraynick, Jr. Sister of Barbara Heckbert of Tewksbury, and the late Amy Richmond, Shirley Steele, Alma Flaherty, Audrey Heckbert, Joyce Russell, Robert, Bruce, Allan, Albert, Richard, W. Douglas, and Leonard Russell. She leaves nine great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Due to the current public health circumstance, services for Dorothy are private. Interment will be at Tewksbury Cemetery.
