Obituary

John J. "Jack" Crowley, a 16 year resident of Stoneham and former resident of Holliston and longtime resident of Charlestown, entered into eternal life on Friday, March 27, 2020 at his home in Stoneham. He was 75 years of age.

John was born in Somerville on July 6, 1944, a son of the late Thomas W. Crowley and Helen (Howell) Dacey and her husband Joe Dacey. John grew up in Charlestown where he was educated at St. Francis De Sales Parochial School and graduated from Charlestown High School in 1962. He also furthered his education and attended Suffolk University in Boston. John enlisted into the United States Army on November 4, 1962 and served his country faithfully and with pride during the Vietnam Conflict. He was honorably discharged on May 3, 1963 with the rank of Private. John began working as a Splice Service Technician for New England Telephone Company and retired as a Power Follow Thru Inspector with Verizon Telephone Company following 42 years of dedicated service to the companies. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, Old Charlestown Schoolboys Association, B.P.O.E Lodge # 2204 of Lexington and American Legion Post # 305 of St. Pete Beach, Florida. John's biggest past time was being a "putter" where he was always putting around the house doing constant odds and ends inside and outside. He enjoyed traveling and taking cruises in his spare time, but most of all in his life, he was dedicated to his family and his friends at Verizon.

John is the beloved husband of 15 years to Lenore J. "Lee" (Judge) Crowley. He is the devoted father of John J. Crowley and his wife Geneva and Rob C. Crowley. He is also the devoted step-father of Rory Doherty and his wife Beth. He is the loving Grandpa to Kaitlyn, Aidan, Nolan, Rose, Ariana, Rylan, Brendan, Gavin and Dylan. He is the beloved brother of Shelagh Farley and her husband retired Boston Firefighter John Farley and retired Brookline Fire Department Lieutenant Tom Crowley and his wife Kathy. He is the dear cousin and friend of Paul Howell. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews.

DUE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC, JOHN'S FUNERAL SERVICES AND BURIAL AT WOODLAWN CEMETERY IN EVERETT WILL BE PRIVATE.

A Funeral Mass and celebration of John's life will be announced at a later date.
