BUXTON - Kenneth “Ken” H. Shaw Sr passed away on March 27, 2020 at his home in Buxton after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Memphis, Tennessee. He graduated from Manassas High School Memphis, TN and went on to study business at Tennessee State University.
Ken proudly served in the United States Air force which he spent most of his time in Izmir, Turkey. After serving time in the Air Force Ken worked for many years in the food and beverage industry as a line cook, prep cook and becoming restaurant assistant manager. In 1996 Ken and his family moved to Maine where Ken went back to school to become a Certified Nursing Assistant and then continued his education to become a Medication Technician. He worked at the Maine Veterans Home in Scarborough for over 10 years and was currently employed at Saint Joseph’s Rehabilitation & Residence for over 10 years as well. Ken took pride in his work and residents and staff always loved him.
Ken enjoyed the Ocean and taking trips to the White Mountains. Taking a ride down to one of the local beaches was his favorite pass time to just relax and enjoy the peacefulness. His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy and he loved spending time with them.
He is predeceased by his Mother Alma Marie Smith, his brothers Donald, Reginald and Carl Shaw. His sister Linda Shaw and son Darryl Shaw.
He is survived by his daughter Tammatha Hart and her husband Adam of Spokane, Washington and his son Kenneth Shaw Jr and his wife Jessica of Buxton, Maine; his former wife and life long friend Lisa Shaver of Buxton; four grandchildren - Tenley, Cameron, Dion and Faith; sister Debra Sinkfield and her husband Maurice of Memphis ,TN and brother Earl Shaw also of Memphis, TN; many nieces and nephews; Katrina Romero and Family and many dear friends.
