Arthur H. Brodil, age 64 of Brockton, died Monday, March 23, 2020 after struggling with a yearlong illness. He went peacefully at the beautiful Pat Roche Hospice House in Hingham. He was the son of the late Frank C. and Helen E. (Donovan) Brodil. Born in Brockton and raised in Randolph, Artie was a graduate of Randolph High-1973 and Stonehill College-1977. He worked in the family shoe business Brodils Bootery in Randolph and ran Brodils Bootery in Weymouth before he decided on a career in the insurance business in 1982. He was employed by Metropolitan and Twinbrook Insurance Agency before he became an independent insurance broker. He was a member of Business Network International and International Business Networking.
Artie was the loving husband and best friend of Kathy (Lipper) Brodil for 42 years. Artie enjoyed life to the fullest. In the summer he loved the beach, ocean and sailing spending his summers in Dennisport on Nantucket Sound. He was an avid golfer and a longtime member of the Harwich Port golf course. In the winter his passion was downhill skiing. He and Kathy owned a home on Attitash Mountain in Bartlett, NH and skied as much as possible. He also played on various dart leagues on the south shore. He enjoyed travel, windjammer cruising and skiing in the Alps.
In addition to his wife Kathy, he is survived by his siblings Robert “Bob” and his wife Connie of Falmouth, Marcia Baxter and her husband Shenny of Falmouth, Barry Brodil and his wife Janice of Plymouth and David and his wife Yulia of N. Conway, NH. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews, great nieces, great nephews and friends.
A celebration of Artie’s life will be held at a later date to be announced.
