Adam C. Paquin age 41 of Brockton died March 22, 2020 at Boston Medical Center. Born in Stoughton and raised in Brockton, Adam was a son of Pauline (Steele) Paquin of Brockton, and the late Arthur Paquin.
Adam attended the BAMSI run Easton Day Habilitation during the school week. In his younger years he attended special needs programs at Brockton High School.
He enjoyed simultaneously listening to his favorite radio station and reruns of the Brady Bunch or the Flintstones and eating his chocolate “cookie” (aka “pudding”), yogurt and applesauce. Adam, with his quiet strength, was affectionately known as “Houdini”. He was always good at pulling things off or apart. If he couldn’t get to things with his fingers, he would use his mouth as his tool to get what he wanted.
Though Adam could not see the world around him, he felt the love of his family and friends. His waterbed, his toy and “spin-a-round”, opening presents, counting numbers, spelling his name, giving orders, riding in Artie’s truck, and belting out his lines during sing-a-longs from “happy birthday” and “happy thanksgiving”, to “hey there little red riding hood” and “little rabbit foo foo”, these all brought him joy. Seeing and hearing Adam’s joy brought joy to his family. He loved his family.
Adam’s ability to be introduced to a new friend and remember them the next time they met again, whether it was the next week or years later, never ceased to amaze.
Adam holds a special place in the heart of all his family and friends.
In addition his mother he is survived by his brothers and sisters Veronica “Ronnie” Paquin of Weymouth, MA, and her long-time companion Robb; Arthur “Artie” Paquin and his wife Julie of Easton, MA; Leo Paquin of Florida and his wife Betty, Ray Paquin of New Hampshire, Donna Paquin Marble of Colorado, Ricardo “Ricky” Martinez of New Hampshire and his wife Lorraine, Christina Martinez of Easton, and the late Maryann Veronesi. He also leaves many aunts, uncles, cousins and life-long friends.
Due to COVID-19 guidelines, services will be private for the immediate family with burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, with his Dad. A Celebration of Adam’s Life will be held at a future date. Please leave a condolence in Adam’s Guestbook on this page.
