Walter J. Bolz
Retired Design Engineer
TEWKSBURY: Walter J. Bolz, age 83, of Tewksbury, formerly of Everett, passed away after his long battle with Myasthenia Gravis on Saturday, March 21, 2020.
He leaves behind his wife of 61 years, Ursula (Salera) Bolz, and a daughter.
Born in Malden on April 26, 1936, he was the son of the late Julius F. Bolz and the late Dorothy E. (Casey) Bolz.
Walter was raised in Everett, graduated from Everett High School, and later attended Northeastern University.
He served in the U.S. Air Force National Guard during the Korean War Era, and attained the rank of Airman Second Class.
Walter began his career of more than 55 years in engineering with the Transitron Company in Melrose, and retired from the Analogic Corporation in Wakefield in 1979.
Through the 1950’s and 1960’s, he had an interest in design and development of scuba equipment and partnered with the G. Moulton Company.
Walter held membership with Watertown Masonic Lodge, the Everett Knight of Columbus, the New England Design Development Managers, the Point of Pines Yacht Club, and North Shore Corvettes of Massachusetts.
He loved hot rods and sports cars. In 1964, he bought his first sports car, which was a 1964 Corvette and he annually followed up with each new generation of Corvette, with his last being the C-7 model.
His wife would like to express her deepest gratitude to all the 911 responders, the Tewksbury Police Department, and a very special thank you to those friends who helped Walter through the long battle by visiting and hands on help - Thank You. And to those who called or sent cards- Thank you.
