Michael Rinaldo Napolitano of Medford died on Saturday, March 21 at Edith Nourse Rogers Memorial Veteran's Hospital in Bedford, MA. Born and raised in Boston's North End, he was the son of the late Salvatore and Assunta (Iannacone) Napolitano. Michael proudly served in the Army during the Korean War, after which he worked for the MBTA. He lived in Somerville for 47 years before moving to Medford 20 years ago. Michael was a quiet man who loved puzzles and going to the casino.
Michael was the beloved husband of the late Marie C. (Loro) Napolitano and the devoted father of Denise Grosse and her husband Gary of North Reading, Michael Napolitano II of Billerica and Maria C. Martins of Medford and her late husband Mario. He was the loving grandfather of eight grandchildren and the loving great grandfather of eight great grandchildren. Michael was the dear brother of Ida Curtis of Michigan and was predeceased by seven brothers and sisters. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in Michael's name to the North East Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave, Salem, MA 01970.
