Obituary

Laconia-Alma Irene Mayo, 91, formerly of 19 Champagne Avenue died Thursday morning, February 9, 2006 at St. Francis Health Care Center in Laconia.

Alma was the daughter of the late Pierre and Olive (Paquette) Landry. She was born in Laconia on December 24, 1914 and had been a life long resident.

Alma was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Laconia.

Prior to her retirement in 1989 Alma was the Manager of Reservations at the Margate Resort for over 20 years. She was a communicant of Sacred Heart Church in Laconia. She was active in Ward 2 as an Election Official.

Alma was predeceased by her husband Frederick T. Mayo in 1967, and by her son, Ross P. Mayo in 1985. Two brothers, Armand and Raymond Landry, also predeceased her.

Alma is survived by one daughter-in-law, Kathleen (Hjermstad) Mayo of NC. Two grandsons, Scott Mayo of Mexico, and Jeffrey Mayo NC. Three nieces, Valerie Silberberg of Alton Bay, Kim Slattery and Monique Tidd both of Gilford.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated Monday February 13, 2006 at Sacred Heart Church, 291 Union Avenue Laconia at 11:30 a.m.; Rev. Adrien R. Longchamps pastor of the church celebrated the Mass. Burial took place on April 18, 2006 in the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Garfield Street, Laconia in the family lot. Visiting hours were Sunday afternoon February 12, 2006 from 4-6 pm at the Simoneau-Paquette Memorial, 139 Church Street, Laconia. Family and friends were invited to attend.
