Imogene Brickle Hasty, 85, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died Tuesday, March 17, 2020, at her residence.
Graveside services will be held 4 PM, Thursday, March 19, 2020, at Evergreen Cemetery, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, with the Rev. David Fisher officiating. The family will receive friends Wednesday evening, from 6 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. Hasty was born February 21, 1935, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late James E. “Buck” & Zelma Aline Hancock Brickle. She graduated from Fitzgerald High School and attended nursing school. Mrs. Hasty was a licensed practical nurse for the Ben Hill County Hospital and Life Care Center and was a homemaker. She enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandkids. Mrs. Hasty was a member of the former Northside Baptist Church.
She is survived by her children: Ricky Hasty & Hope, LaRue Hasty & Donna and Dean Hasty & Amanda, all of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Jamie Hasty, Travis Hasty, Justin Hasty & Chelsea, Lauren Hasty, Kayla Hopson & Steven, Candice Hasty & Jacob Haynes, and Deena Wright & Kevin; 14 great-grandchildren; lifelong friends: Margot Barnes and Yvonne Clark and three nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, J.L. Hasty; her sister, Loyce Funnell, an infant brother, and her brother-in-law, Jim Funnell.
