WORCESTER____Chester J. Mietkiewicz, 83, of 5 Cranston St. died Tuesday, February 7, in St. Vincent Hospital at Worcester Medical Center.
He leaves his beloved wife of 57 years, Rosetta (DiPillo) Mietkiewicz, a son Lester Mietkiewicz, MD, and his wife Cynthia of Millbury, two daughters, Andrea Mietkiewicz of Oldtowne, Me., Gail Puris and her husband Philip of Jefferson and ten grandchildren. He is predeceased by a daughter, Susan Weaver, two brothers Anthony and Carl Mietkieweicz and three sisters, Mary Kleczka, Anne Knight and Helen Parzych. He was born in Worcester, the son of Joseph and Jadwiga (Chodkowski) Mietkiewicz and lived here all his life.
Mr. Mietkiewicz was an accountant and founded Metko Paper Box, Corp. with his brothers; he was self employed and operated Superior Staple Manufacturing, Co. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School and the New England School of Accounting.
Mr. Mietkiewicz was a member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church and a former member of the Businessman’s Club at the YMCA and an avid participant at the Boy’s Club of Ionic Ave. Chester enjoyed building and working on his home and spending time at his summer home on Webster Lake.
The funeral will be held on Friday, February 10, from HENRY_DIRSA FUNERAL HOME, 33 Ward St., with a Mass at 10:00 am in Our Lady of Czestochowa Church, 34 Ward St. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. A calling hour will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 am Friday morning in the funeral home.
