Lawrence Lee ‘Larry’ Smith of Provincetown, died Thursday, March 12th, at Cape Cod Hospital after a lengthy illness, with his loving family at his side. He was 58.
Born in Hyannis, on April 24, 1961, he was the son of Camila (Meads) and Stan Smith of Provincetown. Educated in Provincetown, he graduated from Provincetown High School in 1979.
After graduation, he worked for J.F. Noons. He worked for Doc's Marine Service as a boat mechanic, and for Comcast Cable. He also worked for the Provincetown Department of Public Works, from which he retired because of illness.
Larry enjoyed playing hockey with the Cape Men's Hockey League and being on the water with his boat, the ‘Camila Louise’.
In addition to his parents, he leaves brother Michael Smith and sister Lisa Smith, all of Provincetown. Daughters, Linsey Smith of Harwich, Sarah Smith of Hyannis and Tracey Smith of Wellfleet as well as grandchildren, Hailee Bearse of Brewster, Lily Smith of Provincetown, James Souza of Truro, Kevin Thatcher and Jackson Wade of Wellfleet and Raven & Ruby Silva of Harwich also survive him. He also leaves a nephew Justin Smith and many friends.
At Larry’s request, services will be private.
