Mary Elizabeth Vaccarino, 85, of Brentwood, NH, died Thursday March 12, 2020. Known affectionately by her nickname “Betty,” she was born on May 27, 1934 in Yonkers, NY, where she grew up and lived for most of her adult life. Since 2005, she lived in Auburn, NH until 2010, when she became a resident of the Rockingham County Nursing Home in Brentwood, NH. Prior to her residence in New Hampshire, she lived in Seattle, WA for sixteen years.
She is survived by two daughters: Patricia Vaccarino, and her husband Joseph Puggelli of Seattle, WA; and Sarah Elizabeth Barysauskas, and her husband Robert of Auburn, NH; and her four grandchildren: David Culp and Sarah Culp of Seattle, WA; and Kaitlin Culp and her husband, Patrick Rohrer of Denver, Colorado; and Constance Najuch and her husband Laurence of Pelham, NH; and many nieces and nephews.
Betty touched lives everywhere she lived with her warm wit, grace and compassion. She will be missed by all. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Vaccarino in 1997, her parents Edward and Katherine (Mulqueen) Sheedy, and her siblings, Edward Sheedy, Richard Sheedy, and Kathleen Fredeman.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, March 18th at 11:30am in St. Joseph's Cemetery, 209 Truman Ave., Yonkers, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Church of the Immaculate Conception, known as St. Mary’s Church, 103 South Broadway, Yonkers, New York, 10701. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH is assisting the family with arrangements.
