Robert George Maurice, Sr., 81, of New Bedford died Thursday, March 12, 2020 at Sacred Heart Home after a long illness. He was the husband of the late Lorraine A. (Desorcy) Maurice.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Manuel and Antoinette (Bresette) Maurice, he lived in New Bedford all of his life.
Mr. Maurice served in the Army National Guard.
He was an avid bowler and Red Sox fan and loved going to Foxwoods.
Survivors include his son, Robert G. Maurice, Jr. and his wife Deborah of New Bedford; his brother, Ronald Maurice of Plymouth; two grandchildren, Samantha Ashley Maurice and Kevin Tyler Maurice; and several nieces and nephews.
He was the father of the late Kevin Paul Maurice.
His Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 at 10 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Fairhaven. Visiting hours will be on Monday from 4-7 PM. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
