Robert W. Coggon, 76, of Chester, NH, died suddenly on March 10, 2020. Born on February 19, 1944, raised in Melrose, MA, he was the son of the late Richard W. and Norma (Bruce) Coggon. Robert served in the Navy from 1963 – 1969 as an Avionics Electronics Technician, and received his bachelor’s degree in Physics from UMass, Boston. Robert’s career consisted of working in the printed circuit board industry for several companies including Wang Laboratories and Meggitt Avionics where he was a Senior Quality Assurance Engineer. He was able to retire in 2013.
Robert was a collector of all things. With his engineering mind, he enjoyed tinkering and fixing everything. He will always be remembered for his ability to make a pun and be the first to share a laugh over any situation. He was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. He will be missed by many.
He was predeceased by both of his parents and a brother, Bruce, in 1992. He is survived by his wife Carlene of 51 years, his brother Richard H. Coggon 2nd. He is also survived by his four children, Edward (wife Michelle) of Georgia, Deborah of Weare, NH, Robert (wife April) of Chester, NH, and Rebecca Therien (husband Todd) of Candia, NH, and a total of seven grandchildren.
A calling hour was held on Friday, March 13, 2020 from 9am to 10am in the Peabody Funeral Homes & Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry, NH. Funeral services followed at 10:00am in the funeral home. The burial was in Forest Hill Cemetery in E. Derry.
