Deolinda (Pinho) Sylvia, 82 of New Bedford died March 8, 2020 after a long illness at St. Luke's Hospital.
She was the wife of the late Manuel Sylvia.
Born in New Bedford, daughter of the late Joao M. and Maria V. (Nunes) Pinho, she lived in New Bedford all of her life.
She was formerly employed as a sales person at Mr. A's Bridal Shop before opening Bridal Seasons.
She enjoyed gardening, dancing and antiques.
Survivors include her 3 children, Karen Sylvia-Simmons and her husband Bob of New Bedford, Stephen Sylvia and his wife Kellie of Lakeville and David Sylvia and his companion Carol Rebello of New Bedford.
She was the sister of the late Manuel "Manny" Pinho, Antonia "Toni" Souza, Ora Rebello, Louise Watts, Otilia "Tilly" Allan and John Pinho.
Her visiting hours will be held on Thursday, March 12th from 2-5 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverly Oaks Rd., Waltham, MA 02452.
