Obituary

Carole J. Donahue-Cardoza, 66, of Dartmouth, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, March 2, 2020. She was the wife of the late Donald Cardoza.

Mrs. Donahue-Cardoza was born in New Bedford, daughter of the late William and Beverly (Fish) Donahue and was a long time resident of Dartmouth. After getting her degree, she worked for many years at the New Bedford Women’s Center counseling victims of domestic violence. She was the owner and director of the Wellness Resource Center in Dartmouth. Her love of reading also led to her work in adult literacy. She was an avid fan of sports, Jeopardy and board games, especially Scrabble. She enjoyed reading, relaxing at the beach and hanging with her many good dogs. Most of all, she loved spending time laughing with family and friends.

Survivors include her son, Dustin D. Cardoza of Dartmouth; her daughter, Jennifer J. Cardoza of Portland, OR; two sisters, Kathleen Donahue-Santos and her husband Raymond of Dartmouth; Sharon Donahue of New Bedford; nieces Elizabeth and Jiniah; 2 grandchildren, Luke and Isabelle along with countless other family and friends.

Private arrangements are under the direction of the Potter Funeral Home in Westport, MA. The family will be holding a celebration of her life in the summer (her favorite time of year).

Memorial gifts in Mrs. Donahue-Cardoza’s memory can be made to the Wellness Resource Center, St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, or the New Bedford Women’s Center. Her family would like to extend a thanks to everyone who helped and loved her on her journey.
