New Bedford – Pelcida (Oyola) Adorno, age 68, of New Bedford, passed away on Friday, March 6, 2020 at Charlton Memorial Hospital. She was the beloved wife of Jose Adorno Ortiz. Born in Bayamón, Puerto Rico she was the daughter of Jose Oyola Gonzalez and Carmen (Baez) Cosme.
Pelcida was a dedicated mother, grandmother, and wife. She treasured her family and embraced every moment. She had a vivacious personality and was the life of every party. Pelcida was a giving person. A very caring person. She loved taking care of others especially her great grandchildren. Happiness was everything to her throughout her life. She wanted her home to be filled with love and laughter. No matter what was happening at the time. Family was everything to her. Her children were the apple of her eyes. Pelicida adored her husband, Jose. He was her best friend until the end. He treated her with such delicacy. She was his flower, his world, and she knew it. The world has lost someone great but heaven has gained an amazing angel, our angel, our Pelcida.
She is survived by her husband, Jose; her 3 children, Luis Montanez and his wife Robin of New Bedford, Jose Adorno Jr. and his significant other, Jocelyn Souza of Fall River and Mirna Rodriguez and her significant other Felix Marrero of New Bedford; her siblings, Wilfredo Oyola, Carmen (Oyola) Santiago, Ramon Oyola, Raul Oyola, Jesus Oyola, Claribel (Oyola) Ramos, Nereida (Oyola) Adorno, Margarita (Oyola) Vega, Josefina (Oyola) Rios, Arcadia (Oyola) Ramos, Abraham Oyola and Mercedes (Oyola) Acevedo.
Pelcida’s visiting hours will be held on Thursday, March 12th from 5:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. Her funeral will be held Friday morning, in the funeral home, beginning at 9:00 A.M and followed with a service to take place between 10:00-10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
