Donald J. Sylvia, 67, of Dartmouth passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday March 3, 2020.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Joseph and Hilda (Simmons) Sylvia, he lived in Dartmouth for most of his life.
Donald was formerly employed as a fisherman and then general contractor.
He was a social member of the Club Madeirense SS Sacramento. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Survivors include: Diane A. (Correia) Sylvia, loving wife of 47 years; three children, Douglas and husband Jeremy, David and fiancée Melanie, and Dana Sylvia; two siblings, Ken Sylvia and wife Cindy, Sally Ann Ribeiro and husband Neal; and two grandchildren, Nadia and Hanna.
His Funeral will be held on Wednesday March 11, 2020 at 9 AM from the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St. New Bedford, followed by his Funeral Mass at St. Julie Billiart Church, Dartmouth at 10 AM.
