Robert W. Cruz, 75, of New Bedford died March 3, 2020 at home after a long illness.
He was the husband of Darlene (Pina) Cruz.
Born in New Bedford, son of the late Antone B. Cruz, Sr. and Dorothy B. (Miranda) Cruz, he lived in New Bedford most of his life.
Mr. Cruz was a carpenter for many years.
He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Curtis Cruz of New Bedford; a daughter, Melissa Cruz of New Bedford; 2 brothers, Antone B. Cruz, Jr. and his wife Judith, and Carl J. Cruz, both of New Bedford; 2 sisters, Cheryl E. Cruz of New Bedford and Nadine H. Cruz of Boston; 8 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
He was the twin brother of the late Ronald J. Cruz and the brother of the late Steven M. Cruz.
His Funeral Service will be held on Monday, March 9th at 12 Noon in Hope Evangelical Church, 88 Hathaway Rd., Dartmouth. Burial will follow in the Massachusetts National Cemetery, Bourne. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 8th from 2-5 PM in the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford.
