LUIS C. TORO
LUIS C. TORO, age 90, died Sunday Feb. 5, 2006 at St. Joseph' Home in Dorchester following a lengthy illness. Born in Lajas, Puerto Rico, Mr Toro had been a resident of New York City for many years as well as Florida and again in Lajas before moving to Dorchester 5 years ago. He was a retired Bell Captain at the Alamac Hotel in New York City. A United States Army veteran of World War II, he served in Company B of the 101st Military Police Battalion. Mr. Toro was involved in several major campaigns including; North Africa, Naples, Rome and the Po Valley in Italy.
He is survived by his wife Josephine (Velazquez) Toro of Dorchester, his son; Edward and Edward's wife Margaret "Peg" Toro of Dorchester, 2 Grandsons; Gregory and David Toro and several nieces and nephews. He was also the father of the late Sylvia Stanco and the brother of the late Domingo, Leopoldo, Nicomedes, Ramon and Julia. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2006 at 11:00 A.M. in the O'Donnell & Mulry Funeral Home, 138 Neponset Ave., Dorchester. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours Wednesday 5 - 8 P.M. Donations in Luis' memory may be made to your favorite charity. Online condolences and guest book are available.
