Joan M. (Hause) Palombi age 72 of Salem, NH, died Tuesday at the Holy Family Hospital, Methuen, MA.
She was born in Philadelphia, PA, where she grew up and attended schools. She was a resident of Salem, NH for the past 28 years, formerly of Lawrence, MA.
Mrs. Palombi was a retired Air Traffic Controller for the FAA, and was last stationed in Bangor, ME. She had previously worked for the IRS in Andover, MA.
Mrs. Palombi had her private pilot’s license and was instrumented rated. She was a former airport commissioner for the Lawrence Municipal Airport. She was a member of the National Organization for Women and the Professional Women Controllers. She was US Veteran, serving in the WAC. She enjoyed tennis, golf, and held a brown belt in karate. Mrs. Palombi deeply loved her husband, children, and grandchildren, and will be dearly missed

Calling hours will be held Thursday, Feb. 9, from 4-7 PM, at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St, Salem, NH.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Feb 10 at 10:30 AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, NH.
