New Bedford – Eric O. Chipelo, age 26, of New Bedford, passed away on Sunday, March 1, 2020 at home. Born in New Bedford, MA he was the beloved son of Jose S. Chipelo and Maria A. Oliveira and beloved husband of Catarina Amaral.
Eric had worked as an electrical apprentice for several electricians in the area. He loved to play and watch soccer, especially his favorite team, FC Porto and above all loved to spend time with his children.
He is survived by his parents, Jose and Maria; wife, Catarina; children, Santiago E. Chipelo and Juliana M. Chipelo; siblings, Maria M. Chipelo and Brian O. Chipelo; as well as several cousins, aunts and uncles. He was also the brother of the late Eduardo J. Chipelo.
Eric’s visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 8th from 4:00 P.M. – 7:00 P.M. at Perry Funeral Home. His funeral will be Monday morning, beginning in the funeral home at 9:30 A.M. and followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will immediately follow in Rural Cemetery.
