…ret. M.B.T.A. Bus Driver, Paul Revere Bus, M.G.H.; 75
TEWKSBURY – Richard Paul “Rich” Gallucci, age 75, a retired bus driver and resident of Tewksbury since 2005, died peacefully in the care of his family and hospice at the Sawtelle House in Reading, Saturday, February 29. He was the beloved husband of Maryjane (Colbert) Gallucci, with whom he had celebrated a twelfth wedding anniversary this past September 15th.
He was born in East Boston the son of the late Victor and Philomena (Cardinale) Gallucci, and lived in East Boston and Revere, until moving to Tewksbury in 2007.
He began his career as a bus driver for the M.B.T.A. based throughout greater Boston for his first 25 years. Upon his “T” retirement, he spent the next 15 years with Paul Revere Bus Lines, and the last 10 years of his career in Downtown Boston, driving shuttle busses for Mass General Hospital.
Besides his wife, he leaves three children, Elaine Gallucci-Berggren and her husband Stephen of Dracut, Richard P. Gallucci Jr., and his wife Kerry of Danvers, Daniel Gallucci and his wife Sabrina of Billerica; three step-children, Joseph Kukler and his wife Sonia of Dracut, Michael Kukler and his wife Sandy of Bridgewater, Janemarie Tolson and her husband Shawn of Pelham, NH; thirteen grandchildren, Samantha , Nicole, and Joseph Bradley, Nicholas and Olivia Berggren, Karley, Drew, and Cameron Gallucci, Emily, Benjamin, and Colin Kukler, Colton, and Declan Tolson; a brother, Vincent Gallucci of MA; a sister Joan Gallucci of NH; many nieces and nephews; and was predeceased by his daughter Reneé Bradley; and brothers, Victor Gallucci and Joseph Gallucci.
Visiting hours Tuesday, Mar. 3, from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the Tewksbury Funeral Home, corner of 1 Dewey and 975 Main Sts. (Rte. 38) TEWKSBURY CENTER, Ph. (800 in MA or 978) 851 2950. His funeral will begin Wednesday, Mar. 4, at 10:45 a.m. from the funeral home, followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00 Noon in St. Dorothy’s Church, corner of Harndon and Main Sts. (Rte. 38) Wilmington.
