East Baldwin - Ronald Malcolm Watson Sr., 77, of East Baldwin died on February 26, 2020 at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough after a long illness. He was born in Limerick on February 28, 1942 and was educated in Limerick schools.
Ronald worked for the Maine D.O.T. for several years as a young man, then several more at the Limerick Shoe Shop. He later worked for George Roberts Concrete in Alfred for many years until his retirement.
His many hobbies included taking care of his garden and working on small engines. He also worked as a mechanic on stock cars at Beech Ridge for many years. Ronald was an avid Red Sox fan, liked feeding his chipmunks and enjoyed watching cartoons. Above all he loved his family and will be sadly missed by all who loved him.
Besides his parents, he is predeceased by two brothers, Russell and Carroll Watson, and a sister, Jeannette Watson. He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Linda (Harmon) Watson of East Baldwin. Three sons: Ronald M. Watson Jr. and fiance Marcia Thompson of Florida, John W. Watson of Springvale and Malcolm S. Watson of East Baldwin. A sister, Marguerite Libby and husband Chuck of Berwick. Two brothers, Clarence "Skeezix" Watson and wife Terry of Tennessee, and Myron Watson of East Parsonsfield. Two grandsons, Josh and Slade Watson, two great grandchildren, Leila and Brady Watson, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A memorial service will be on Saturday, March 7, at 1 p.m. at the East Baldwin Congregational Church, 17 School St., East Baldwin, Maine. Rev. Natalie Blake will officiate. A reception will follow at the Baldwin Town Hall Community Center.
