Herman E. Henry, 72, of Brookfield passed away peacefully in the loving arms of his family on Friday, February 28, 2020, at his residence. A graveside funeral service will be held for Mr. Henry at 11:00 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2020, at Oak Ridge Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest. A eulogy will be given by Johnny Johnson. The family will receive friends Sunday, March 1, 2020, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. in the Chapel of Bowen-Donaldson Home for Funerals.
Born April 7, 1947 in Worth County, Mr. Henry was the son of the late A. H. Henry and Dovie Mae Hines Henry. He graduated from Tift County High School and ABAC. Before retiring, he was employed as a Hydrologic Technician with the U. S. Department of Agriculture for 35 years and was employed as a Senior Ag Specialist with the University of Georgia Tifton Campus for 10 years. For 35+ years, he was a member of the Holana Creek Hunting Club and for most of those years, served as treasurer. He was also a member of the Brookfield Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman and a classic car collector.
Mr. Henry is survived by his wife and high school sweetheart, Linda J. Henry of Brookfield; one daughter and son-in-law, Melissa Michelle and Kyle Militano of Indialantic, Florida; two brothers, Roger Henry of Tifton and Bob Henry of Albany; and two granddaughters, Isabella Audrey Militano and Sophia Audrey Militano.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses of Hospice of Tift Area, especially Michelle Williford and Bernadette Owens.
