John T. Kovac, 90, formerly of Ashburn, GA, passed away Monday, February 24, 2020 in Jupiter, Florida at the Jupiter Pavilion Hospice Center.
John was born on June 23, 1929 in Meadville, PA, to the late Steven and Helen O’Keefe Kovac. Mr. Kovac moved his wife and 4 children from Michigan to Ashburn, GA in the summer of 1969. He opened up Foreman Manufacturing, a division of Goodyear, and served as Plant Manager. He and his family loved Turner County and the wonderful friends and activities they enjoyed for many years.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years, Peggy, and his great grandson, Atticus Cox.
Mr. Kovac is survived by his 4 children – Steve (Juanita) Kovac of Lawrenceville, GA; Eric (Margie) Kovac of Mary Esther, FL; Paul (Lisa) Kovac of Hahira, GA; and Susan (Phillip) Sanders of Jupiter, FL. He had 4 granddaughters, one grandson and 9 great grandchildren.
A Memorial Service is planned on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 1pm at Perry Funeral Chapel in Ashburn, GA.
In lieu of flowers, donations to his charity of choice, St. Jude’s Research Hospital, is greatly appreciated.
