Obituary

WEBSTER – Emily (Lipski) Kabala, 85, of 13 Grandview Avenue, died Saturday evening, February 4, 2006, in St. Vincent Hospital in Worcester.

She was born on August 25, 1920, in Dudley, the daughter of Jan and Walerya (Noga) Lipski. She leaves her husband of 66 years, Stanley Kabala; her daughter, Maria Kabala of Webster; her son, Stanley Kabala, Jr., and his wife Catherine of Dudley; and her grandsons, James Kabala and Daniel Kabala of Dudley. She also leaves several nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters, Sophie Wilder and Stasia Columbus.

During the late 1940’s and early 1950’s, Emily worked at the B-W Footwear Co. and then was a full-time mother and housewife. She loved to cook, bake, sew, knit, crochet, braid rugs, read, and garden. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Basilica and an adorer at the Blessed Sacrament Chapel in Webster. Emily was a charter member of the St. Joseph Polish Women’s Club, a member of the Sacred Heart Society, an active participant in club and parish activities, and for many years a Girl Scout leader.

The funeral for Mrs. Kabala will be held on Thursday, Feb. 9, from Scanlon Funeral Service, 38 East Main Street, with a Mass at 10:00 AM in St. Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St. Burial will follow at the St. Joseph Garden of Peace. Calling hours are from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Wednesday, Feb. 8, in the funeral home. Donations in her name may be made to either St. Joseph Basilica, 53 Whitcomb St., or to the Blessed Sacrament Chapel, 17 East Main St., both in Webster, MA 01570.
